Very nice, homestyle bistro. Very good pizza and Stromboli. Greek dishes a little bland, but still the best in the area.

While this isn't going to be a favorite of mine owing to my particular tastes and comfort zone, I didn't find my experience here bad at all. I'd like vegan options (there's much dairy here since it's Italian, so keep that in mind if your body doesn't like dairy), but it is easy to be vegetarian here and many times that's good enough in the Deep South. I found the employees very friendly and helpful, and they seemed content, showing there's probably good management. I was very impressed by the employees' kindness with a special-needs gentleman who seemed to be employed there in some capacity, and that goodness counts for so much in a crude society and a somewhat discourteous town (Hartsville is very attractive but not always friendly and polite). The interior isn't dressed-up or fancy in any way, but the two levels and low lighting are nice; you can be casual and physically comfy here, and that's the point. It's just a block from the university, so I can imagine this being a good, walkable, relaxed, mostly affordable option for students. The evening of my visit, the crowd was not diverse and was a bit unrefined (it wasn't frequented by students or varied demographics that evening, as a uniform, rougher lot was the entirety of the eat-in clientele), so it wasn't too inviting to me in that aspect, which made my to-go decision the right one - I noticed the more mannerly, soft-spoken customers were choosing takeout that night, but I don't know if that's always the case. The location is excellent, with some street parking and a big car park (that needs a little pavement attention, and may be the city's responsibility) available; the restaurant is walkable for many Hartsville residents. It's worth a try if the menu tickles your fancy, and I'd probably expect courteous employees, but I'd just survey the clientele a bit first to see if it's a crowd you'd feel welcome amongst before choosing eat-in dining.

Super friendly and super service. Calzone, pasta, and pizza were all great. Entrees are reasonably priced and food sized servings. Our waitress came by several times to refill drinks and check on us. Coker students get a discount. Be sure to mention it when you order.
